Now,multiplication is a different story, 2 times 4 equals 8 which means i have 2 slices of pizza on the table then some one walks in asking me that he wants my 2 slices of pizza then he added extra 2 slices then he added extra 2 slices then he added extra 2 slices then he leave with all pieces now it is my question to ask myself what just happened?so I basically had 2 slices doubled 4 times and that equals 8.
So let's read it real now! With different example:
4 plus 2 equals 6 means 4 pieces added 2 more then total I have is 6
4 times 2 equals 8 means 4 were added together two times gives me 8
Now multiplication is good to faster a lot of process such as cash example :
I bought a couch for 60 dollars then I make credit card payment 3 times a month so how much should I pay per transaction?now math like simplicity so it can be solved and it is the best to set a story with a case so my total is 60 dollars and I have three times a month to make payments so how much a time should I pay? So what money I have to pay can be multiplied or doubled three times to get 60 as total in the end?
That would be what number times 3 equals 60 and the result is 20 dollars so how did I get that result? It is either by multiplication way as shown above or division as it will show below,
60 dollars I divided into 3 times payment so that's 20 .
So memorizing multiple table is a treasure since it will help you in division too.so let's start with multiplication table you need to memorize. Now first rule 1 times any number equals the same number or vice versa. Now second rule multiplication can be switched and give you same results such as 2 times 6 equals 12 same thing like 6 times 2 equals 12 and that goes every where in multiplication only not a devision!
Now I will specify division in a different article. Let's just focus on multiplication only here. So 2 times any numbers equals that number is doubled. Now this is the basic multiplication rule " learn how to read multiplication such as a first number times a second number equals a first number is doubled as many times as a second number tell him to do!
So 3 times 2 equals 3 doubled itself two times equals 3 and 3 is 6
5 times 2 equals 5 is gonna double itself as many times as the second number tell him to do ,so 5 doubles it self two times equals 10 it is different than addition when you add stuff together. In multiplication you double the first number to itself as many times as the second number ask you to do.
Now 2 times 6 equals 2 doubled to itself 6 times so 2+2+2+2+2+2 equals 12
But 2 plus 6 means 2 added 6 to it so altogether is 8
Now 3 times any number is the same story you ask your self 3 will double it self how many times as the second number tell me to do so 3 times 4 equals 3 will be doubled it it self four times so 3+3+3+3 equals 12
But 3 plus 4 equals 3 added 4 to it so all I have is 7
Learn time tables and memorize it well!
9 time table is unique to memorize and it has a simple trick!
If I say 9 times 4 equals you start by 4 and say what's before it is 3 then what makes a nine is 7 so the result is 37
9 times 3 equals you start by 3 then what's before is 2 and what makes 9 is 7 so result is 27
9 time 8 equals start with 8 what's before is 7 and what makes 9 is 2 so result is 72
9 times 5 equals start with 5 what's before is 4 and what makes 9 is 5 so result is 45 that only trick use only on 9 table!
And 10 times any number equals the same number with extra zero
So 120 times 10 is 1200
30 times 10 is 300
Now what's interesting about multiplication that it will get easier since you flip numbers with same results. So 2 times 3 equals 6 now you go learn 3 table it will just be a switch so you already learn two table that 2 times 3 equals 6 so in learning 3 table you already know 3 times 2 equals 6
Now 11 table is doubling trick ! Only for 11 ok any number times 11 is doubled as I will show you but just through 1 to 9 so 11 times 1 equals 11
11 times 2 is 22
11 times 10 is 110
11 times 5 is 55
